i test many pricy pre power like Gryphone encore,Mcintosh MA7000,Krell FPB 600,and some other.but at last i hear this Great amp with 912 pre and i choose it for ever, very natural and musical sound, deep bass, wide clean and sweet and not colored.really i like it and thankful of Mr De Paravicini for this Great design.I use it for my Focal Diablo (bad match speaker)but Ear can drive them very well. |

Strength:
Clean, transparent, musical
Weakness:
Makes your previous equipment seem poor I replaced my solid state Pre/Power combo (Naim) with these amps, driven by way of a passive pre amp. When I first ran them through my speakers I laughed out loud, then when I re- connected the Naim amps I laughed more! These amps have been one of the biggest, most surprising and cost effective upgrades I have ever made. I call it an upgrade, but they were cheaper than the Naims, which made me laugh again, harder. Huge (but not exaggeratedly so) soundstage, beautiful description of timbre, deep musical bass, airy upper-midrange. These amps have, as they say, got it going on.

Strength:
Sheer raw power, neutrality, outstanding base and the ability to drive just about any load.
Weakness:
They weigh a ton. so re-enforce your shelves. These 100w monoblock are built like tanks, are extremely neutral and do not impose any of their own character on the music. So be warned they do not add the normal warm sound associated with valve (tube) amps. They are however extremely powerful and crystal clear producing an efforless sound with astounding base capability. In my experience they also seem able to drive any speaker you can throw at them. Very neutral and very powerful. Highly recommended. |
