Strength:
Networkable great sound reproduction stylish
Weakness:
No bass/treble adjustments when in aurio surround mode Limited media format support This system has amazing sound. It has been able to reproduce sounds that I didn't even know were in my MP3s, even the ones with lower bitrates. This systems cosmetic design is beautiful and it looks great when placed on my audio rack. Mine came with the matching DVD player and 6.1 speakers (HTB-8100DV). This system has more than enough power and sound quality to make my apartment walls vibrate and my neighbors mad, LOL. I think the best feature of this unit is the ability to play audio, video and photo files from my computer. It only plays a few formats, but hopefully Kenwood will update their firmware to support other formats. For now I can play MP3s, WMAs, MPEGS, JPEGS and DIVXs stored in my PC. Unfortunately, it does not play Internet Radio. The preset sound configurations are a pain to me because it will not allow to tweak bass and trebble manually when in surround modes, only for stereo sounds. This is dissapointing because the bass and treble sound better in 2-channel mode than in 6.1 mode for audio. I played saving Private Ryan and it sounded great! The DVD player that came with the system does not play SACDs or Audio DVDs, this was also dissapointing. All in all, this system is for my bedroom and I'm very happy, especially because I don't have to keep walking to my living room to listen to MP3 and watch videos on my PC. |
