A superb amplifier but that will only be revealed if you use high quality speakers and sources. Construction is solid and inspires confidence that you will never need that 20 year warranty. There is a definite tactile pleasure in operating the controls.

Be aware that it does not scream 'DETAIL' at you or try to impress with other artificial emphasis but delivers music neutrally and with great subtlety - just as it should. It is essential therefore that the speakers are also neutral or otherwise suited to your listening room.

It paints a pretty good aural 'image' of the orchestra spread out across your living room but does not provide as good a 3D image as I have heard from a decent valve amp. Conversely, with the right speakers, bass speed and control is better than all but the most expensive valve amps.

The only other drawback is the relatively low power. You obviously do need fairly efficient speakers to get realistic dynamics. I reluctantly had to sell my B60R when I bought some wonderful PMC OB1i speakers. I changed to a Bryston 4B of course!

This is an integrated amp that I've always had an interest in owning. After earning a Master's degree and getting my first real job and place to live, my next step was upgrading my stereo. I really liked my NAD 304 and 320BEE, but wanted to move up from the NAD/Rotel/Marantz level of gear. I listened to a lot of stuff - Naim, Rega, Arcam, Creek, and so on. I skipped over the B60 because it was out of my price range. It was contemplating a Naim Nait5i/CD5i or Rega Mira3/Apollo. Both systems were very good a communicating music, and not just reproducing sound.

I saw a B60 with the options I wanted (remote and phono) listed on Audiogon for a few dollars less than the integrateds I was looking into, so I gave it a shot. I knew I could have sold it for minimal loss if it wasn't what I was looking for. It was far better than I expected it to be. I brought it to the dealer who had the Naim and Rega gear, and they were kind enough to let me hear them side by side. There was no comparison, everything the Nait and Mira did, the B60 did far better. While the new price of a B60 is almost twice the Nait

top end may sound dull if paired with the wrong speakers. I would suggest brighter speakers with a strong bottom end.

I bought it two years ago thinking that it would be my audiophile 'nirvana'. I had read all the wonderful reviews and even auditioned the amp. Finally found a used piece with remote and phono so i bought it and mated it with a B&W CDM1, rega planar 3, and rega planet.

Unfortunately, this combo never worked for me. The sound was always smooth with strong bass and clean highs but I missed the warm tubey sound of the Musical Fidelity A220 that I sold to buy the Bryston. Music also seemed lifeless. I changed my speakers to the Epos ELS 3 and got more detail but now everything sounded irritatingly bright.

I finally gave up and sold the Bryston and B&W's earlier this year and replaced them with a primaluna prologue 1 and NHT Classic 3. I'm a lot happier now.

Overall, I'm not saying that the B60 is a bad product. It just didn't work in the system that I had.

I have test this bryston among all the other brothers for a long time. Right now is in my living room with Cambridge Audio 640 C V2, Kimber cables, and two set up of speakers. M12 (revel) and the cheap and nice Monitor 30 from Polk.
Among the sweet part of this High End- Hi FI marriage, is the sweet sound from the real deal Polk. Yes. you might think that bryston make all the work but, trust me, this speakers are one of the best in the market in a big range of money.
Use them with Bi-wiring and you will be in heaven.. Yet... they are Hard to move, and a little plain and out of focus, but in small spaces with furniture they will work very good.
In the other hand... The revel's are.. well... Very nice for the money again, but I think in that case, the cd player should be more.... Sensible and... Warm.. And cambridge is not as warm as I like... Despite of the very good price.. I think revels deserves something like a rega, Revox or some other source. If you plug the Mark Levinson, you will be in even.
bryston baby get's HOT... but woeks as fine as any other, and the sweet sweet REAL SOUND.... is the best part.
Please try this bryston with ANY PAIR OF SPEAKER and trust me, the will be a different speaker for your ears, pockets and friends.

This intergrated amp is pure and extremely well build. If you value quality in design and manufacturing than audition it with good speakers and you will know right from the start. I give it a 5 star for value due to a Class A preamp and a very good high current capable Class AB output stage. Some reviewers on this site mentioned a warm delicate sound, comparable to what some call 'tube sound'. This statement is absolutely false as the B60 is free from all of it, with no harmonic distortion. Many can verify this by looking at the supplied final checkout sheet, thus clearly stating harmonic distortion, intermodulation distortion, output power at clipping, and noise. So if you're looking for a intergrated amp that can cleanly drive loads down to 4 ohms at roughly 100 watts/ch and last you more than 20 years the B60 is the key.

This integrated amplifier replaced a Rotel RA 971. Although no more powerful than the Rotel, the Bryston projects a solid sound image, seems to respond to drastic alterations in dynamics with much more speed and accuracy, and can amplify music at very high volume levels without distortion. The variation sound quality between the Rotel and the Bryston are sometimes subtle, sometimes more apparent highly dependent upon the demands of the recorded music. The Bryston really shines in the reproduction of human voice where its ability to amplify the signal without coloration and complete clarity is stunning. One downside to this integrated is that it runs very hot after two or three hours of use at high volume levels. The unit actually cuts out until given opportunity to cool. I intend to contact Bryston to determine if this is normal or if I may be harming the amplifier by driving it as hard as I do. The exterior of the unit is very solidly built. The metal case is heavy guage and the controls are heavy duty. I suspect the twelve years or so remaining on the Bryston 20 warranty will go without any need to return the product for repairs.

The Bryston B60 is a very flexible and excellent sounding "integrated" amplifier. Since owning it, I have tweaked it to obtain superb results. Initially, the B60 sounded very good especially in comparison with my Arcam Delta 60 integrated. There was more dimensionality and transparency which allowed me to listen into the performance. The bass became more defined and tight with added impact. Tonality of instruments improved substantially as well such that musical textures came through with clarity. Even with this substantial improvement, I wanted to see if the B60 was tweakable. As such, I started with changing the power cable. I ended up using a DIY cable design by Robert Crump which increased the clarity and transparency of the amp. The B60 is actually a pre-amp and amp combination housed in one box. The stock jumpers were just 2 pieces of U-shaped nickel gold plating. I eventually ended up with Kimber Silver Streaks (0.5M) as the pre-amp to amp connectors. On the whole, I think these tweaks increased the performance of the B60 by approximately 20%! For those who initially purchase the B60 allow a good burn-in and play around with tweaks before judging it. This is a product which I highly recommend to anyone looking for distinctive quality and performance.

I've had this unit for about a year now and am absolutely delighted. Have upgraded some other components and sound continues to improve (i.e. The unit has even more potential). The preamp section in this unit is top notch and is alone worth the price...dead quiet! I have driven other amplifiers with excellent results. As I've read in some of the reviews, the sound is "uncolored" and "real." The product is an excellent value and will provide many years of reliable service. Yes, there are better integrateds out there but, in my opinion, none even near this price. If you're tired of the mid-fi game...get one of these and be done with it...start listening to the music, not the equipment!

The whole is greater than the sum of the parts......If you are looking to make a great sounding small stereo system.. the B-60 is the answer My quest for a small, afffordable musical system started by porting a Bryston 2B (same power as the B-60) through a NAD 701 int amp, and sold both and bought a B-60. the difference was staggering: balanced, and very musical. The only replacement I would now consider would be an upgrade to the Mark Lev. intergrated (4x price -so quite unlikely). I have paired the amp with decent cabling, and replaced the std jumpers with Audioquest vipers(?) jumpers - the difference was quite audible + reccomended. I am also using BW CM2 speakers, which I have been pleasantly surprised with. However (here's the downside) - in looking to upgrade my speakers to a pair of 805's the speaker dealer cautioned that my amp would be inadequate to properly push them, and being 95% happy with the CM2's I decided to heed his advice. One should pair with a power amp (3 0r 4SST) if you want loud, to push ineff. or big speakers. There is $$ and space concerns to consider here. If you have above type speakers/listening habits/desires you might be better to look elsewhere. If you want an anchor for a nice small simple system...look no where else.

This is a fantastic amp. I own a Cary SLI-80 that while different due it being a tube system, the B60 is so nice that I often believe I could do without the Cary before I could the Bryston (if I had one desert item to bring with me). I'm pairing it with Meadlowlark HR Shearwater's and with their transparency and wonderful mid-range, the Bryston does a superb job of keeping up and presenting a very warm, clean, accurate presentation and wide and deep soundstage.
