I purchased the 4311 to replace my 3808 unit which does not support HDMI 1.4a (3D). The 4311 is very similar to the 3808 but adds 3D passthru, ARC (audio return channel), height/width amp/processing, pandora, & flicker. I noticed the web features are superior to the 3808, which were very unreliable. The pandora streaming has worked flawlessly evertime I have used it. All of the streaming features I access through my LAN either using a laptop or Android phone. The LAN access has been more reliable than the 3808 unit as well. The ARC worked previous to a firmware update. I am not sure if it was the TV or AVR update. I had to add a fiber cable for audio out of TV. Not a huge deal breaker since I was only using TV to access Youtube videos. Directv now has Youtube access so the ARC is a mute point now. I have yet to try the height/width since I do not have another set of speakers, but from a few reviews I have read I am not missing much. The flicker feature has not been tried either because I do not have a flicker account. In all I am happy with the upgrade and would recommend the 4311 to anyone in the market for an upper-midrange AVR. |
