Strength:
Like it a lot: great silver matte looks, ergonomically and function wise well thought over/designed, very good reception, clean output and sparkling, wide 3d soundstage. I have had a dozen tuners last 30 years, also in the high-end and top vintage area. But this NAD S400 was a lot cheaper (2nd hand) than most of them, and is an allround performer with an easy operation interface. Just by using (one day I purchased a silver Bryston pre/power set, so just bought something silver looking matching..this NADD was a guess) and start listening to it: got hooked on the sound! It is my favorite tuner of all. Weakness:
Careful handling of the case. Don't bump into anything..they are easily scratched or damaged. And minor minor: I like green, orange or white lights in the display. These are blue like most current leds in hifi devices... dislike this color. Price Paid: 150

Strength:
RDS, double antenna, gold plated connections, own remote control.
Weakness:
None. Front view doesn't match the other equipment if you don't use silver series. I bought it one year ago. It is very estetic tuner. I compate it with Sansui TU-717 while they connected to same antenna. FM reception is almost same. NAD S400 a little bit better. But sound quality is much higher then the TU-717 and also Onkyo T-9990.

Strength:
Stable frequency, clear and clean
Weakness:
None as on today's receiver quality I give it 5 stars because it deserved no matter on design or on it's sound quality that received from the broadcast station. It offers a bright and clear sound with quite background (usually there are a lot of noise go together and it is very irretative but not happen to this NAD S400 Silver line radio receiver).
