Not being a technophile I was intimidated by the thought of a network device. Rest assured the NA7004 is virtually plug and play. I plugged it in and five minutes later music was playing through my speakers.

My needs are for detailed classical listening. So quality of sound was my main goal. Paired with a Marantz PM8004 this unit has meet my needs.

Installation was quick and easy. Now the sound. After a fair amount of break in time I would say that the sound is great. No you are not getting CD quality. But you are getting virtually the same sound quality as most any FM station. Pleanty of bass and very little if any treble rolloff. The sound has detail and imaging. Also the M-Dax feature acts as a loudness booster of offset any treble deficiets resulting from poor streaming rates. If there is any short coming it is most likely due to slow streaming rate of a poor recording. But again if the recording and the streaming rate is good there is no difference between the NA7004 and a good quality FM station. And I use mine exclusively for classical music. The NA7004 plays as good as the signal coming in.

Marantz is bringing the entire world of music to your ears - enjoy it!
