Have just bought this unit from cash converters for £28.00, and i am totally stunned on the music sound quality coming out of it, this must be my best hifi bargain ever!

Strength:
Makes Good solid recordings, looks pretty good, Useful features
Weakness:
No Manual bias, could do with being able to record a touch louder I've had this deck for nearly 8 years now and not so much as a hiccup, still makes recordings just as good as the day I got it. Yes there are better machines out there I know but for the money and I believe you can now buy it for little over £100 it's a fine machine. Plenty of functions available, although it doesn't have manual bias. Still, the auto calibrate is fairly good depending on what make cassette you use, nice touch with the powered door open and close. One handy feature with this deck is after about a second of ff or rew, the speed goes into overdrive making quick work of searching, quite useful! Also it's remote control too if you really feel the need to purchase a remote handset, sadly it dosn't come with one. The overall build quality is pretty good too. At the moment I use this on my 2nd setup in the bedroom which used to be my only setup, now I have the better stuff, Rotel,Arcam etc. It's a deck I'll always keep hold of though even if only to be brought downstairs to be linked up to the yamamha kx580se for tape to tape recording, which my wife as a school teacher finds useful for work. Definitely stands the test of time this machine, would certainly recomend. |
