Strength:

Clean, Revelaling, Refined Sound. Very inexpensive for the quality of construction(real wood), bi-wireable, aluminum grills. Superb performers.

Weakness:

At this price or twice....None.

For under $800, these speakers, when paired with quality equipment, are simply amazing. I took these speakers home along a pair Paradigm Reference Studio 40s and a pair of B&W 604’s. Listened to them in the same room each hooked up to my Arcam A65 integrated amp. The B&W 604s just couldn’t compete with the other two. They had excellent bass but that’s about it. Muddy midrange and a very bright, very shrill top end. The Reference Studio 40s on the other hand were very smooth, very neutral speakers with excellent bass extension. They’re huge standmounters though with a dedicated bass drivers and really shouldn’t be considered bookshelves. The Paradigm Reference Studio 40s are great products good for all types of music. The Epos M12 however is an amazing product. The soundstage these bookshelves present is expansive, very detailed and defined. Their midrange is fast, tight and responsive and for their size have a quite an excellent punch in the low end. I’ve heard speakers 3 times as much that can’t hold a candle to the Epos M12. I could blab and blab about how great they are but just go out and audition them yourself. You’ll be glad you did. Oh yeah, Custom stands are sold for the M12 by Epos, Buy them... they're well built and spike both into the carpet and into the speaker cabinets. With the speakers properly spiked, bass and midrange tighten up signifcantly. As a side note I’ve also heard the Epos M15s and strangely they don’t sound as good as the M12s. I’m not sure exactly why but they sound much worse. System: Epos M12 bookshelf monitors on M12 spiked stands. Arcam CD72T Arcam A65 Nordost Black Knight Interconnect Panamax M500 Power Strip
