Having lived happily for 4 years with a pair of Triangle Comete 25th Ann. monitors, I am being very careful not to let go of them before being really sure, and have not had the P17Bs long enough to sell the Triangles. That said, am pretty certain these new ones will be my speakers. They, like the Triangles, are very alive sounding and play well at low volumes, but the P17Bs are far more dynamic and will play loudly gladly. They are the cleanest most detailed speakers I have heard in my 50 years of listening to quality audio. There seems to be little or nothing between you and the recording.....and that is the only possible concern. With recordings that are not themselves bright/thin they can be just amazing, and many recordings I have owned since the 60s sound so much better than I would have ever believed. They reveal background vocals and inst. I never would have known were on the record, like the fact the artist is singing harmony with her/himself. To my ears, like the Triangles, they really need a quality sub to balance the amazing mids/highs. I am using a sealed box sub designed for speed/clarity rather than quantity of bass. As always it has been difficult to blend the sub seamlessly with the speakers, and am still playing with that a bit, but it's close to being right. When these were reviewed in Stereophile they remarked that hundreds of hours of breakin will be needed and I think that sounds correct.....they sound better all the time, and I must have less than 100 hours total now. Only time will tell what their final sound will be, but right now it is hard to think of not having them.....the vast majority of CDs and records played so far have drawn me to the music and encouraged extended listening. In my many years and many speakers owned have never been attraced to horn designs.....they always have sounded somewhat rough and colored to me. Have owned several Klipsch designs incl. Khorns, La Scalas & Cornwalls, but these Palladiums are in an altogether diff. league. Am hopeful it will be a long and happy relationship with the P17Bs.

These are very good sounding. Mostly I am a horn afficionado, but these are not only dynamic, but the bass is very good with weight and good low level detail, yet these are very transparent. I have a Musical Fidelity Nuvista M3, along with an A5 cd player. The presence from certain recordings is stunning. Some I have heard are very curious about there being enough bass. I would say not to worry, These have adequate++++ bass with good weight. then rave about the palladiums is spot on. These have brought a haapy smile to my face.
