Excellent clarity in the medium and upper frequencies. I would describe them as "articulate" in that range. They do not muddy the vocals and the highs at all. There is a very "airy" feeling to the sound in the mid to higher frequency range. If you like music with lots of percussion instruments (congas, djembes, etc...) you will be in for a treat, the Empteks really deliver.

But the bass are these speaker's weakest point. Despite the three 6.5in drivers on each speaker, you will notice that it simply fails to reproduce the deepest bass sounds in 2 channel music. They definitely need a subwoofer to complement them.

But overall, they are some of the best speakers I've heard. I just sold my pair for a higher end product and I now regret it. I wouldp robably be buying them again.
