Strength:

excellent quality sound, decent bass for outdoor speakers

Weakness:

none that I can find

Although these little speakers are somewhat expensive, the old saying "You get what you pay for" comes to mind. Excellent, clean sound in a nice little package, these outdoor speakers blend in nicely on my back porch. I gave them a little test and the definitely can handle a party. The bass response is also quite good. I'd recommend Klipsch HS-2 to anyone looking for quality outdoor speakers.

Strength:

Good sound from a small package, excellent finish, very durable outdoors.

Weakness:

Bass port is not sealed. They include rubber inserts if you want but it cuts back on the bass. Mounting brackets only adjust on a single plane.

We went looking for decent sound out on our deck without spending a fortune. Most outdoor speakers are extreemly anmenic. Its hard to get good sound with no reflection coming back. Lots of out door speakers sound great in a test room. Put em outside and the whole world changes. We have them elevated about seven feet off the ground under the eves, about 22' apart to cover the deck. Slightly turned in for best listening. The mounting brackets ($45.00) extra are sturdy but are limited to adjustment on a single plane. We have been very pleased with their preformance so far. Great for Jazz or Rock with in 20 feet. First real test.. we had a party & Queen came on with Bohemian Rappsody. They got cranked and sounded fantastic as the hot tub was rockin. Very good clean highs & midrange. Still if I could only get a powered subwoofer to hold up to Minnesota's outside conditions. Its very difficult to maintain any real bass outdoors. We are very pleased that we spent the extra $ (160each) for some decent sound out there. The Boston Accoustics' are comprabable but were over $400. They are completely sealed though. PS. They preform just as well in the cold weather although I call it quits even for the hot tub when it gets much below zero. Would gladly buy again.
