I will attempt to keep this short and sweet for the benefit of those considering this speaker and perhaps competitors of similar price. This is a world class loudspeaker. The PBN is a true full-range transducer that is faithful to every note on the audio bandwidth. Perhaps the EPS’ most notable characteristic is its deep but true bass response. The taught accurate bass (much like a very high quality sub dialed in), contributes to a strikingly deep soundstage. The speakers’ 53” height and D’appolito driver arrangement also provides for an exceptionally tall soundstage as well. These attributes, combined with the faithfulness of the all-ScanSpeak driver selection, amount to a performer of rare quality south of the $25k mark. The Montana’s high sensitivity, benign impedance yet high power-handling ability make it any easy match for any high quality amplifier. I have owned many high quality speakers, some costing quite a bit more, but none that do so many things so well. A true end-of-the-line loudspeaker. |

I home auditioned the Sonus Faber Cremonas but they only sounded good on certain types of music and were too aggressive on some music. I listened to the
