SS-M415 is one of the outstanding loudspeakers I've ever heard. For just $300, I got crisp, loud and brilliant sound, no matter what kind of music I was listening, it was always sound superb. Make sure to buy the U.S.A version and not the China version as the cheaper version has tweeter issues.

No a weakness to them (Unless yours is made in China), had them for years and I put a lot of volume through them without any issues.

as everyone else says the tweeters suck. bought mine used off craigslist. tweeters were blown when i got them, but i already googled the model number and read that problem on this website b4 i bought so i was prepared. took tweeters out of a pair of bookshelf speakers to fix. just bought a 185watt x 7 denon receiver and these speakers are rocking now. i have a subwoofer in my setup but i have it set to still send bass to the front speakers, and they handle well and it sounds great. fills the whole room with sound. from looking these up on the internet you can get them online for 65$...i paid 60$ on craigslist and im very satisfied. for the money these are going for currently they are a fantastic value. i wouldnt pay the 200$ msrp. but if you can find a set of these for under 100 grab them. you wont be disappointed. id like to get another set for my rears, but the rears are the most important speakers to me so if i did that i would actually buy brand new better tweeters rather then rigging diff tweeters to them stolen from whatever other speakers i have just laying around.

oh the grill covers suck and are curved which sucks more cause its way better (depending on your room layout) if you run these speakers upside down. took mine off and packed them away. curved grill makes it look weird. very weird when upside down

overall great speakers just bad tweeters but tweeters are cheap. highly reccomend for the right price not over 100$

I bought these speakers in a package or audio equipment, and after selling everything else I ended up with these for free. I was skeptical of sony when it came to audio equipment. I have tried out two of sonys amps and did not like them. I much rather use my stereo yamaha amp. But anyways, these speakers paired with the yamaha sounded, just ok. The sound was warm, but the tweeters were very unpleasant. They created a tinny sound I did not like. I purchased a pair of cerwin vega tweeters off of ebay. They did not fit, but I just widened the cabinet. After I hooked everything back up, the sound was very nice. The woofers still created that nice warm sound, not too heavy bass, and the tweeters just paired up amazingly. In conclusion I am very impressed with these speakers, after a little modifications it will serve me well and continue to do so , and they were free.

The design of the speaker is real good. The mid/bass drivers seem more than respectable , for the price a definite bargin.

The tweeters have to go,they give a harsh and tinny sound. I suspect that the crossover is a bit suspect, Ill have a look at that later.

I got this set of speakers as a birthday present.They were 1600 Rand, which is plus minus 180$. When I first pumped up the volume, they started distorting immediatly.After a while though, they opened up and I was getting good sound. Eventually One of the tweeters blew. After I took it out and saw how under powered and crappy they where, I replaced them with a Higher rated set. I had to widen the hole in the box to fit the new magnets of the new tweeters. But it was all worth it. The harsh sound of cheap foil dome tweeters where replaced by a good pair of soft dome tweeters. I dont have to worry now, every time I crank it up. Overall it sounds real good.

paid 250 canadaian nice sounding speakers, im using a jvc 600watt reciever and running only 2of the sonys, they sound really great, the bass response is really good, sound better if they're flipped upside down, both tweeters blew on me after 6 months of use

the tweaters crapped out on me twice in 3 months but once they were fixed the speaker sounded fine nice bass clear mids im just waiting for them to break again if the tweaters didnt crap i would give them a 5 out of 5

Not as great as the polk audio speakers but for the price I paid for them, I cant complaint. Sears had them for $199 but after i found them cheaper in the Net i was able to get them for $99. A price match from Sears. Sears rocks!!!!I paired them up with the Sony SS CR490 package (Center and Surround speakers) and the SAWM40(Subwoofer). I still cant believe the sound quality I have accomplished.
