The Titan is absolutely superb. No it doesn't play as loudly as some other subs, but it sounds better than all the subs I've auditioned, and I've listened to most of the good ones! The construction is 1st rate, I've seen $5000 speakers that weren't built this well. My wife says it looks and feels like fine furniture! |

Strength:
Build quality, accuracy, musicality.
Weakness:
Control knobs need better markings in order to see easier. I wanted a sub for music. I listened to all of the those listed. I bought the ACI Titan based upon reading reviews here, magazine reviews, and the ACI website. Found a good deal on a used one. The warranty is transferrable if you can verify the original owner. ACI staff were helpful and I ordered the spikes and some cable for it at a fair price. Similar Products Used: Listened to: Velodyne CT100 and CT120, Paradigm PDR 10 and PDR12,PS1000,PSW 2200 and Servo 15; Polk 450 and 650, Monitor Audio 110. |

I have know owned my ACI Titan powered subwoofer for 3 months. First of all let me say, that I was very impressed with the build quilty of the Titan. The finishing is outstanding,as good as any subwoofer that I have seen under the $2000.00. |

When I purshased my complete Magnepan Home Theater System using the upgraded MG10.1's as my mains I was really not considering upgrading my Klipsch SW12 sub. Unfortunatly the Klipsch just didnt have the speed like the Maggies. I listened to many subs but anything that had the speed was well over $1000. I turned to ACi because of a previous purchase. The production Titan is downward firing which because of placement it would'nt work. I needed front firing. Enter Titan Kit. I can build almost anything and I have the shop to do it. Mike at ACi helped me with the demensions and construction was completed in about 20 hours. The kit took about 1 hour to install. The moment of truth is very scary, its not like you've heard in a store allready. The sub is awsome. Musically the accuracy is mind blowing and its fast. It can be gentle like a lamb or roar like a lion. The Klipsch had more knock you out of your seat bass but no defination. I do not know how low it gets but minuatures in my wife's shadow box on the wall are taking the "plunge" to the floor. That's new. Total cost came out to be $625.00.The production Titan sells for $799.00. Based on what I auditioned at the stores I would have had to spend $1300 to $1500 to get what I got. ACi is audio's best kept secret and the word should get out. |

I spent six months looking and listening to subwoofers. Most of the them were very slow and had a lot of bloom in the bass. I was looking for a subwoofer that had good bass detail, because I am using it for Hifi not HT. I owned a Paradigm PS-1000 and found that it was VERY slow and did not have good detail in the bass. The ACI Titan powered subwoofer has great detail with very little bloom in the bass. I mostly listen to Jazz and Clasical music and I was looking for more wait and detail then my ProAc 150 were givening me. I listened to the REL 100, which is also very good but I also need a subwoofer that went with the decor of my living-room/listening-room. The Titan comes in cherry wood, which my ProAc are. I was not very impressed with the Titan when I first got it home, but after 10 to 20 hour of playing time it tranformed itself into a subwoofer which has great detail and Very good timing. It matches very well with my ProAc's, it adds a lot of dynamics and detail to the music. |
