Have used Air Mass for isolation from structural vibration for many years and, by itself, does make a notable difference.By experimenting I found adding a Symposium Svelte Shelf on top of Air Mass with Stillpoints and Risers on top of the Svelte Shelf to support components has dealt with the air-born vibrations along with internally generated vibrations from source and amplifiers. I swear on my ears the combined effect is truly profound. i used to think it was BS when people talked about hearing emotion, ect, from tweaking. while listening to stereo. The music now forces me to respond, jump factor, bite, musicality, air, deep clean bass, pristine highs, micro and macro details abound. In the past I chased components for improvement. Now it is clear to me optimizing and tweaking are paramount for realistic reproduction. PS The other part of system foundation is the power supply. This had almost as much effect as vibration control.I have PS Audio products from outlet to power cords and their power regenerator the PPP. But that is another subject for another day.

Ditto...
If you do buy this product ($99)...you need to add on at least the
little rock 3 at $79-89 to make it usuable. So for components less than
30lbs. The Townsend CD sink ($150) is a better deal.

The Bright Star Air Mass 3 is a fabulous product. I noticed a greatly improved sense of system integration, tighter and more defined sound stage, and more bass control. The sonic accolades simply doubled when I added the Little Rock 2 to mass load the component from the top of the chassis. It is true that you may be able to build something like it for less, but the $99 price tag is not exorbitant considering the sonic benefits. There have been some criticisms over having to add air to it every few months, but I don't hear anyone complaining about pumping up their bike or car tires! Townshend has a similar product, the CD sink, but at $220, clearly Bright Star holds the better value.
If you are looking for a relatively inexpensive way to improve the isolation of your system components, take a very careful look into the Air Mass 3.

Recently I purchased the air mass 3 through mail order. I would have to say it was a mistake considering the price . I could have bought an innertube and fastened it to a board just as effectively for under 10$ . The air mass was of very poor quality the valve often comes off of the air tube due to the fact that it is held on with a tie wrap. Also it is very difficult to balance some equipment on the air mass. The air mass also looses its air and must be pumped up again and again. In all save up the extra money and buy a Townsend sink far more effective and worth the money.
