Not sure of the exact rack model number I have but looks like the 5505 on the website. Audio Adviser sells a similar rack at a lower price, still expensive but worth it. Tubular aluminum or steel framing, welded with MDF shelves finished in Wilsonart laminates. These racks are Cadillac or more precisely Formula One. The type of race car frames Mr. Baggs used to or maybe still does design and build. Rock solid, beautifully finished in black powder coat. Many options and colors and configs available. I don't now if it will make your gear sound better but it will certainly look better and the open back and sides make it a lot easier to change out components and cables. Only negative is shelf ht. and position is fixed but is designed to accomodate most gear. Doesn't fit your gear, no problem, they can weld up a rack that will, just ask. |

Strength:
Sturdy, looks great, with casters it is mobile
Weakness:
none I wanted a rack that was sturdy, durable, and could handle different size components even if I upgraded in the future. I considered the Salamander series but I did not think it offered enough spacing if all shelves were to be used and that it was not as sturdy as the Billy Bags rack. For esthetic purposes, there are several options regarding the shelf finish and the frame can also be ordered in different finishes; my wife thinks it is good looking, and she is an artist! I got the casters rather than the spikes since I don't have a lot of room and this makes it easy to change cables, clean around the rack, and get at components.
