well, i never thought that i would be rating an audio rack, but this is simply an aesthetic review and opinion. anyway, absolutely to all below who noted that the center pole in the back provides a problem when connecting. also, not being able to move it while components are on it is terrible. and for the money one would expect something better, but nevertheless, as all audio component (and i guess rack) purchases go, one usually spends twice as much to get 1/2 the product one envisioned in the beginning. But in the + column, it is quite functional and attractive looking. also, though it makes connections tough, the center support in back hides itself when placed against a wall. |

The Lovan Classic II is a very good rack for most kinds of audio gear. I actually bought the Tall version, with four identical tall (10") shelves. |

I purchased the lovan Classic II the tall version three years ago and it has been great. I think it looks attractive and is relative inert and very stable. The biggest problem that I have had is that the back center column sometimes makes it difficult to hook up RCA cables if they are centered on the unit. The other problem is that it is a tripod and when you are hooking up gear you can (if you aren't careful tip up a shelf. Other than those two caveates I really like the shelves and the black brushed metal. One other advantage it has is that because it's stackable, the four shelves can be set up as four straight up or two side by side which gives you some flexability if you want a different look. They also pass the wife acceptance factor (which can be important). My wife would never have tolerated shelves with large bolts and stuff. |

i wanted to submit a follow-up to what i had originally written, because i recently discovered something of some interest. the bright star big rock 1 is a fantastic add on to the classic 2 rack. it fits perfectly on the top shelf, and also adds a great deal of additional isolation from vibration, etc. it's especially good for turntables. five stars for the bright star + lovan combo |
