Strength:

Versatility, programmability(sp?), cool factor

Weakness:

Can't name your customized buttons, no "zoom" button for DVD mode.

Wow, I love this thing. I saw it for $180 in Circuit City and decided to check the reviews here. Needless to say, I became wary when I read the above reviews. The manager sold me an open-boxed one for $99 with a 30 day return guarantee, so I figured "why not?".
Well, it is groovy, to say the least. I did not find the trouble that the people above did. The memory was ample, I was able to control all PIP functions, and the macros worked great.
It is a learning remote, so really, you can add whatever feature you need that it doesn't already have(e.g. PIP extended functions, DVD zoom). I agree that a weakness is not being able to name these buttons accordingly; so I used the "zero" as my zoom(since as a mnemonic, one might equate a circle with a target with "zooming in" on something, whatever).
Otherwise, after trying to make my Onkyo learning receiver remote my master remote(as well as One For All Cinema 7 and A/V Producer 8), this turned about to be pretty damned nifty(for the price). You may not find it for $99, but if you go to http://www.wmsesolutions.com/wcstores/urc/urc2.html you can get the newer upgrade model for $123 delivered! The guy there is very nice(I think his name is Chris).
Anyway, that's it.

Strength:

Blue display

Weakness:

Setting it up

I found this used remote for $35 on Ebay. It's GREAT!
Love the blue display. (Being used, some of the display is fading. We'll see how customer service is.)
I had to delete the old info from the previous users setup and it was a pain. I was ready to call it quits. I reread the manual (again and again) and finally the remote did it.
It was a cinch to have the remote learn an older model tv. I've never set up a remote that easy before.
The battery usage remains to be seen, but I don't think I'll have a problem even though I have the backlight set to about 30 seconds.
YOU MUST HAVE THE BACKLIGHT ON FOR MOST TASKS!!! You'll probably memorize the locations of the buttons after awhile, but turning on the light is the first thing I do!
Maybe I'm foolish, but all of my components come on simultaneosly because I have them plugged in to each other.
That eliminates the need to set up the macros even though I thought it was a good idea to make those buttons available.
Hopefully, I'll end up with some gadgets to necessitate using the macro feature (ie, lights, etc).
All in all, I love this remote. I can't wait to show it off. I think this will be a keeper, especially as I add more components to my system!!!
