This is the best preamp you can own for that price. It cost me a little over $ 2800.00, it does everything I expected and more. There so many features that I haven't got time to use. the sound is outstanding the 4k feature is my favorite. I love it. I wish I bought it earlier but it is mine now and I am enjoying it. Extreme “openness”, clarity, intelligibility, revelatory! I have listened to and owned many preamplifiers and have to say hands down that KRELL is the leader in audio engineering for a reason! I know why now why people will go the extremes and purchase from the likes of Boulder, Dart Zeel etc. It’s because once you have arrived to this level of absolute accuracy in audio reproduction there are very few comparable components that will match or exceed the performance of something like a KRELL product. Which in turn makes me totally understand why they can charge $7,000.00 or $12,000 for a pre amp and more. Balanced products just excel at everything when engineered right. I give this pre amp a full 5 stars with no reservations or hesitation!

Retail price, for some of if not most is why this could be a possible weakness, other than that absolutely none!
