Strength:
This is an amazing digital pre-amp, I have used it over ten years and i still love the sound. If you configure it properly you will get a psuedo ProLogic II - Stereo effects in the rear channel!
Weakness:
Connectors occasionally need to be re-soldered. I'm running this through a Rotel 985mkII 5ch Power Amp and connected through a Sony EP9-ES, although the EP9 uses 24bit processors and is a newer Pre Amp I still use the TAE 1000 to listen to music, the sound is much better and produces less hiss Similar Products Used: Tag Mclaren avr32. |

One of the earliest Dolby-Surround Amplifiers available and still a stunning piece of technique. Probably better than the "2000-ESD". I´m running it with two Denon PAs and it gives a superb sound. |

Strength:
The reverbs on this unit are superior to those on the 2000
Weakness:
fewer EQ channels, and fewer Q selections than the 2000, slightly brighter sound dry, but smoother reverbs If you like reverb, this unit is better than the 2000. See reviews for 2000 for more detail :o) Similar Products Used: other sony preamps |
