Strength:

Excellent neutral sound, quick response. Has that typical English laid back sound.

Weakness:

Remote is simplistic (This is OK?)
Wish it was made somewhere other than China.

I am very pleased with the Unit. The design engineering is meticulous, both the layout and logic of the Unit.

Unit sounds very open. No matter what frequency comes out it really sounds balanced. I am thrilled that non-separates can sound this good. I was looking into Arcam and NAD separates but the rating of the new AVR100 was touted in about 3 HiFi Mags, and in this forum. I pretty much agree this unit has excellent sound, and decent slam for the $$. I did listen to a tube amp, just to pique my interest. The Manley Stingray was even warmer, had incredible bass current sourcing speed, was twice as costly, but the Arcam is a great FET amp (Im pretty sure the outputs are FET).

With it I have a Rel Strata 3. Nice unit, took a while to get the frequency, amplitude, and phase dialed in.

Now my little Heybrooke Helios sound very nice with it, but I am hurting the little fellas. Anyone know of some good Modest size floorstanders, or big bookshelfs that would compliment?

Strength:

Sound, sound and more sound quality

Weakness:

none really

Plain and simply, this thing ROCKS!!! I have searced for a long time to get a receiver that matches up favourably to separates. In two channel stereo, the detail is excellent and the sound is very smooth. Lives up to the Arcam history of quality products. The other various receivers I tested never even came close, especially in two channel stereo........highly recommmended.
