Strength:

on the 2800 denon good sound, durable, lots of hook ups. On my other system clean and pure power, vary durable long lasting, pre amp outputs, vintage equipment is the best of all.

Weakness:

no digital on the 2800 on the other system nun its all good.

Check it out stereo fans I had my Denon 2800 amp for awhile and I will tell you this. I have never had any problems with this unit also it sounds fantastic.I also want to say that my best sound system is running a Sansui 9090db with a Kenwood kr9600 as slave amps (pulling out the horse shoes in th back of the receivers)this will nulafye all receiver functions and make these power house receivers strickly slave amps. I then run one rca patch cord from the power inputs on the pre amp jacks on each receiver to my Pioneer spec 1 pre-amp.whitch is hooked up to my adc equalizer then run speaker wires from my receivers-(slave amps) to 4 Kenwood triple 9s and turn the volume up about less then half on the spec 1 and man you would not beleave the owesome and crystal clear sound that comes from this vintage sound system. My system will make your heat miss a beat it is so loud and clean you would not have to lisen to it but have to feel it to beleave it. And that my stereo fans is my best sound system I have ever felt.I guarentee it..Walt from Tacoma Washington

Love my DENON AVC 2800! Bought it when I lived in Hong Kong and have moved it four times, over 18000 miles, and it still performs like a champion. i also have lost my manual and don't know how to program other remotes into the denon remote.

Strength:

Sound quality, construction and at the time this amp came out.Features that counted.Beat up the competition back in 1995 to a degree never seen before. and i have all the reviews to prove it. From Curtco''s "home theater tech" magazine.

Weakness:

No tuner..,No optical.., Not digital...,but still in a class all it''s own.

This is more of a plead for help, than a review. But..., If any one can help i''d be most greatful. I''ve missplaced my owners manual for my AVC-2800. Can anyone help me out by sending me a copy or directing me to where i may be able to print up a copy of the owners manual?.Anyone kind enough to help can reach me at:Guardian34@webtv.net I have owned this unit for 7 years and i can''t say enough about it.I have recently upgraded to the AVR-3801 but i''m still very attached to the 2800.And more than likely will never part with it.(yes it''s that good) Any one Lucky enough to get thier hands on one "grab it!". It is truely a DENON CLASSIC.

I've had my avc-2800 for bout 5 months now bout it for only 175$ and im quite happy with it. It has great channel seperation in pro logic. Much like the above review it is alittle behind and you will have to upgrade if you want 5.1

I've had my Denon AVC-2800 for about 2 years now. Technically, it is an integrated amp and is a "bother" to the more popular AVR-2500. The only difference between the two units is the AVC-2800's lack of a tuner. As I do not listen to the radio anyway, I decided to save about $300 an pick up the unit for just over $600.
There are about 9 DSP modes available, only 3 of which I find useful. The regular Dobly Pro Logic setting has excellent seperation and is reminicent of the THX certified (Pro Logic) Theaters. The Classical Concert Hall really accentuates the listening experience with classical pieces - no real surprise there. The Jazz Club mode is useful at times, not surprisingly with Jazz & Pop style music. And of course, all music sounds great with the just plain old stereo mode.

It was an excellent bargain at the time, but it's lack of ability to be upgraded to the Digital formats means the unit has a limited life to the audiophile. In a couple of years, I'll upgrade to Digital 5.1 and save this unit for multi-room use.

This is a good integrated A/V amp. The only thing that prevented me from giving it a 5 stars on overall rating is the door (access bass, treble, etc.) was jammed. I've to send it in for warranty work.

The sound is wonderful and the learning remote is very useful. I don't particularly like the idea of a receiver(amp + tuner) and that is the reason why I bought an integrated amp.
