None I purchased this receiver to take the place of my 5 year old Sony STR DA555ES. I thought I could not find anything to take the place of my Sony Receiver because it had been the heart of my system for 5 years and it has done a stupendious job. I thought the only thing this receiver would have over my Sony was the different inputs that it offered. I was really suprised when I got the Denon 3806 home and hooked up. I could not believe the way it sounded. Movies with a Dolby Digital soundtrack, via satellite(Direct TV), sounded really good with my Sony, but the sound was so much better with the Denon. I could not believe the difference that it made. I also love all of the component and HDMI inputs. Hopefully in the next year, I will be in a new house and able to build a dedicated home theater. I will definitely incorporate this Denon Receiver into it. Similar Products Used: Sony STRDA555ES |

Strength:
Lots of sound control, both manual and microphone.
Weakness:
It is still a hassle to hook up the speakers, you are going to want bannana plugs or small fingers. That is all this far. The HDMI switching is a welcomed feature from Denon. Also there is a three user microphone setup for optimal listening in three pre-set positions in the room. Another new feature is seperate speaker eq. Other than that the power output is strong for it's price class. It has the same old abundance of inputs as 3805. Similar Products Used: Denon AVR-3805, NAD T763, Sony Strda300ES |
