Strength:

very good looking design, warm sound, remote controle, sourround modes

Weakness:

volume controle seems to be cheap

When i got my Harman, i nearly couldn´t believe to be a owner of such a beautiful receiver. But when i connected it with my jbl loudspeakers and out in my favourite music: that was a moment of total happiness. the front panel has not too many buttons, only the volume controle is not so good. even the remote controle is a masterpiece. the sound is warm and chrystal. i will never regret i bpught a harman!

This is regarding H/K receivers in general. There are so many conflicting reviews it's just not funny.

Some people have tremendous problems. I remember the AVR-65RDS as an example, mine is still working fine after 18 months. Other guys even get DOA units.

Looks like the new range is the same. What is going on here.
Are all units made in one factory or not. My AVR-65RDS says made in China and it really works well. I want to buy the DVD-1 and the HD-740 CD-player but many people say no they are crap.

Perhaps it is factory problems as it seems not all area's are affected in the same way.

I don't have hiss, noise, volem problems and no shutdowns.

I truly think that either the components used in one factory is of a low quality or that tolerence's arn't adhered to. This means QUALITY CONTROL. Even in Africa we have heard of this.

I don't think the design is bad but H/K is losing customers as I to am worried if I buy other H/K products.

Please e-mail me if you would like to discuss the matter.
