Strength:

Great sound, ability to fine tune audio settings, lots of hook ups

Weakness:

Some information is hard to find in the manual, but it's all there

I bought this a couple of years ago at an online auction. I've never had a problem with this unit. Bothe the coaxial digital and optical digital inputs work great!!

JVC RX7000VBK with Dolby Digital® AC3and DTS®

The JVC RX-7000 A/V receiver is an excellent value. Mind you, you can spend several hundred dollars more to get a better receiver, but for the average home theatre, the RX-7000 is more than adequate. Front panel controls are easy to use. The remote control is not too bad. I did find some of the buttons a little close together. Receiver came with banana clips for the front speakers. You need to go to the higher series before you get banana clips for all the channels. Good features include dolby digital and DTS. The receiver is easy to use. Compulink feature is nice if you have JVC components. Front RCA ports are convenient. The sounds is excellent. Good deep base (I have a Paradigm 100 W subwoofer) and the highs are clear without getting too "tinny". For the money it is an excellent value and would highly recommend this as an good mid-level receiver.

Strength:

Easy to setup and controls my TV, VCR, CD, DVD, AM and FM. Its working great for me!

Weakness:

Does not fully control my JVC 3 disc DVD player. Cannot change discs. That is pretty much its only weakness.

What more to say than a full rating?

Strength:

Many inputs/outputs, versitile, good and solid

Weakness:

Surround buzz

I really liked this receiver until about a month ago when I decided to hook up surround sound. The right rear surround emits a constant buzz when hooked up to my JBL S26's. I took it in to the shop and they said there was nothing they could do about it. The sound isn't present in the left rear speaker. Other than that, this receiver is terrific - nice and loud, very clear, and had every kind of input I'd ever need.
