universal remote, clear sound!

5.1 decoder?

I may be wrong ,but in the auto mode with a toslink cable from a xv-m555 dvd I don't get a/c3 dolby digital sound.
It still says pro logic, heck I sold my pro logic to have 5.1 channels. I think units without a decoder should say dolby digital ready! I works Ok but doesn't provide what I expected!
