Strength:
7.1 compatable, THX Select, 100 watts per channel, strong clean sound, Room B hookup, good display on the front with well layed out buttons, easy to hook up, advanced setup options available.
Weakness:
Unit heats up quick, remote. I purchased this receiver used on ebay, no prior experience with Kenwood. First impression after unpacking was good. Everything on the front panel was well layed out and not too crammed together. The back was also a simple layout and was easy to hook up. After wiring to my Yamaha NS-777 speakers I was impressed with the sound quality, not much hum from the speakers. After adding a full set of surround speakers, center, and sub I was simply amazed with the receivers performance. You really have to crank up the volume before you get some good levels though. The remote is so-so, I can't get it to do some functions. The unit heats up quickly putting out 100 watts per channel. Overall a great receiver with good power. |
