Strength:
Nice looking, simple controls & hookup
Weakness:
Remote too complex, Manual not helpful enough This is my first reciever purchase, and this reciever fits the bill for all purpose use. Although there are others better out there this VR409 packs alot of features particularly for home theater. Kenwood reputation for quality is intact with this reciever. I have been impressed with simple light construction and face plate buttons and overall look. The Rear input/outputs clearly marked for all types of connections. Programing is straightforward. The only complaint I have is that the setup manual is vague in describing the setup options and doesnt offer tips on optimized setups with today style components. The remote with its LCD display screen which looks fancy really is a confusing item to use. It is easy to loose were your at while manipulating the buttons and too complex for universal use! My setup with this VR409: 2-Polk RT35 mains 1-Polk CS245i center 1-Dahlquist PDQ-1200 sub Monster 16 gauge cable w/optical to DVD! Similar Products Used: None |
