Strength:
great sounds easy to use I tried this receiver for about two weeks and works great. But I skipped to pioneer elite tx29.The pioneer just had more options and THX.But the Nad T770 is also nice. It sounds clean, crispy and easy to use.Good receiver for most home. |

Strength:
Clean natural NAD sound, solid performer
Weakness:
Only 3 digital inputs Has to be one of the best receivers I have listened to. Typical NAD sound, warm and open, but also packs a hefty punch for DVD. Lacks DTS, but so what? For the price can't be beat and is still head and shoulders above the new T760 Similar Products Used: NAD AV 711/716 |

None! I have enjoyed this receiver for about a month and a half now. All I can say is wow! I love coming home and playing CD's or DVD's, it does both so well. Similar Products Used: Denon 3300, Marantz 880/780 |

On an overall scale after owning this product for 5 or 6 months, I love it. There should be no discretion towards the overall disription of the product. It produces great highs and has a nice even flow in the mids. When really driving the amplifier, it handles very well. It has a "soft" and "hard" clipping option, so that you don't have to deal with any distorion in your music or your HT. I read a review that said that it doesn't handle DTS...although I could care less, the decoding in DTS is pretty poor...but regardless, the T770's 5.1 channel input gives you the option to do further upgrades in the future. I am using PSB Century 600i towers for my mains and PSB Century 200ci for my center and PSB Ambient I dipoles for my rears. I have a PSB Century Subsonic 2i subwoofer. With these combinations, I have had nothing but joy from my system. I have enjoyed many different movies on my system, rather than going to a theater to see them. Let there be no doubt about the performance of this receiver. It may not be the best out there, but it will give you a "run" for your money. |

I took this unit home as soon as it hit the shelf here in Portland because I had listened to the NAD stereo amps and had been impressed. I returned the unit because my litmus test for recievers is stereo music performance. I could never figure out was listening fatigue was until I spent some time listening to this unit. The imaging was poor and the sound overly bright and harsh. The dynamics were quite good however and for home theatre it was great. Note that I have B&W mini pods as my main speakers and they are by nature very revealing. If your main application is HT and your mains are somewhat "soft", this unit deserves a listen. I ended up with the Marantz AV550 with 2 MA700s for the mains and 3 MA500s for the rest. These sound much, much better for music and at least as good for HT. |

The NAD T770 has completely blown me away. With its continuous 70w power to all channels, you feel and hear your speaker system(no matter what kind)with the sound you were meant to hear. This receiver is versatile and sleak, aside from its already Dolby Digital decoder, the T770 gives you what you want in a pro-logic receiver: EVERYTHING! Other than being a bit bulky, in this case, size truely is not concern. The on-screen display is clean, clear, understanding, and ease of use is applauded. For the TRUE audio home theatre stereo enthusiast, this receiver is for you. |

First of all I highly recommend you review M. Glenn's review. I could not have reviewed the T770 any better. It depicts a very accurate picture of what you are paying for in the T770. To summarize; if you are someone who needs the flexibility of multiple digital inputs(not video it has plenty of those), an all in one remote, and prefers many digital processing modes then you should look some place else. However, when it comes to audio performance whether 2 channel stereo, Dolby Pro Logic or Dolby Digital the T770 excels over all others(under $2000). The following list are products I used to compare; Denon 3600 & 3200, Marantz 880 & 780, Sony DA90ES, DA80ES, and Yamaha's 2095, 995, 795. Good luck and enjoy! 5 star at its price point, 4 star at any price point! |

This receiver is built excellent. It is easy to use. It has very clean and musical sound. The amps are more potent than the specs would lead you to believe. At $1699 it should have DTS but it does not. It does however have 6 channel inputs. I would rate this receiver more musical than the Marantz 780, Yamaha RXV 995, Denon 3200 and Sherwood R945 MKII. It makes for a great deal at $1399If DSP modes are not your thing, and clean dynamic sound with an easy user interface is what you are looking for, than this is your ticket to hapiness. |
