Really enjoy this receiver after having established familiarity with the operation and menus. I have been into pro audio and Hifi for 45 years and have owned many receivers. I really enjoy the network capability although the apps are static and probably won't ever be upgraded. The only apps that I use are Spotify and Rhapsody. These apps only allow you to search and play the playlists that you have created. Of course you can search for anything new, but it is tedious to interface without a keyboard. To add playlists you need to be on a computer. This is the main reason I bought this unit, because it had both music services. Also I believe and know that the more power you have, the higher dynamic range you have for music reproduction. Anyone playing music should get the most amplification they can afford. The logarithmic nature of power requirements to volume dictate this. This unit has lots of power so you can deliver undistorted power to your speakers. I am very happy after over two years .
I recommend this unit to anyone looking for a high end piece. My thoughts on the more expensive Onkyo units are that they add on boutique type features that carry a premium price, however there is not much more beef to them than this unit will give you. This is a best value high power unit in my book!
