I bought the receiver 4 months ago and I guess it should sound good compared to my 6 year old pioneer VSX 4900S. Fact is, it is hugely better. It looks awesome, which to some doesn't matter but I'm a guy who will never by NAD and never drive a minivan ,regardless of performance. For the money, I don't think there is
a better sound, particularly in stereo mode. The hall mode is great for listening to some styles of music when used as a mood creator. For real listening however it is useless, but I still use it on occasion so am glad to have it there.
I have nothing bad to say about it.
