Strength:

Lots of features, on my amp it came with the speakers to. built in 100 watt dBas subwoofer amp, great sound for music and movies, Dolby Pro-Logic & Dolby Digital Decoders built in, great sound, you cant beat the price. Digital sound prosesor

Weakness:

subwoofer placement is hard, no subwoofer crossover
( the sub amp is built into the receiver )

i would just like to tell you that when i got my system it came with the Receiver ( with a built in 100 watt sub amp ) and 6 speaker including the dual 6" sub .
i love my system you cant beat it for the price the Receiver has lots of features you can set the front L/R speakers to "LARGE" or "SMALL" when you set them to large it sends all of the low frequency's to the front speaker's if you have small speakers ( bookshelf speaker, Satalite speakers ) then you set them to small and what that dose if you have a subwoofer it sends all of the lowfrequency's to the subwoofer.
this Receiver you can also change the volume of each speaker from -10dB or +10dB it's a verry good system the sub sounds verry good for such a small sub the system can also play verry loud with good sound quality.
there are many things on this Receiver that you would expect to find on $400 + receivers.
here's a list of a few sound modes this cool reveiver has

1. Stereo
2. Dolby 3 stereo
3. Dolby Pro Logic
4. Dolby Digital
5. Church
6. Bypass
7. Theater
8. concert
9. club
10. stadieum
and many more

Strength:

at first, I loved it. good quality sound, low price, easy hook up.

Weakness:

it stopped working just after the one-year warranty ran out! as another reviewer stated, it started going out after a static-like shorting noise; after a few minutes it would work. now it doesnt work at all and I'm stuck with it.

don't buy this unless you get an extended warranty.

Strength:

Sounded Okay

Weakness:

Broke after 4 months. Rca service centers wont fix it. So I got the scematics and am trying to chase down the problem.

Sounds good, but some units may be defective if so many other people are having the same problem.

Nothing beats the Vidio inputs on this nice receiver and audio jacks I love the 3 s-vidio inputs for up grades

Weakness:

(Only) 6-ohm speaker output, hard to find 3/way floor model speakers that match did find a pair at a cost 500$ a pair....

(Grate for low budget) I Like useing a bigger front speaker I'm useing a pair of rca. floor model 3/way 100w/rms 200 watt max at 8-ohm nomanal, and I get better sound useing that typ of speaker

Strength:

sounded good for awhile, good Digital sound, speakers don't sound bad at low to medium volumes.

Weakness:

it broke!

I loved my low cost DVD sound solutions until...

it freakin stopped working the 6th month I had it! I turn it on for about 3 minutes, and then it cuts out with a loud static noise, and doesn't work anymore. And guess what? The local service centers won't touch RCA audio recievers, only TVs.

Strength:

Lots of Inputs for a good bedroom theater

Weakness:

Remote Sucks for other devices except for RCA Unit

Not too shabby for a bedroom set. Got it to replace the Magnvox that after many years died. Using it in a 12 X 12 room with a 27" Sony results in GREAT sound.

Weakness:

haven't found any yet!

To summarize is difficult for this system. Extremely good value at this price point. Has features that aren't found even at higher prices. One thing to note is that they're are two models that have similar numbers, there is an RT2250 and an RT2250R. The difference being that the RT2250R is just the receiver. The RT2250 is a complete system with six speakers. There also is a slight difference in the receiver. The RT2250R does not have the built in 100 watt amp for the sub and the output for the sub is via coax connector. The sound for DVD movies is excellent. Audio for music is acceptable but, if you "play it loud" then you may want to get larger more expensive speakers than the RCA's. For most people the sound is very good. As stated in other reviews it is feature rich in every way. A previous reviewer listed a weakness "lack of Dolby Digital and DTS" which is not true!

Strength:

none

Weakness:

everything

I had mine for 19 days then returned it. I hated it, the sound sucked and I found myself pulling out my hair at the lack of dts and Dolby digital. I hate this reciever and strongly dissuade people from buying it. Spend the extra $100 and go get a JVC for an eco. price, there is way more value there.
