Strength:
the power? It has a high hiss all the time... even if the volume is at min. I got it checked by the importer, and they changed the grounding... The noise is still there, and today the display f*cked up... Im getting rid of this produckt and will get me something that dont hiss, and works like its supposed to.. |

Strength:
fineness of the sound, simplicity of use, cool look
Weakness:
volume button not with 3/4 turn For me, the most important thing is to have a very good sound. Between two DVD, I hear 20 CD... DSP, lot of video inputs, plenty of adjustments are mostly 'gadget'(in french) for me. It is funny one hour or two, but after... So, when I compared many amplifiers like Yamaha, Denon, Marantz (was my best before), NAD or Sony, Rotel was same level as the others after... the first listening. But after the third or forth listening, the best was clearly the Rotel! Extraordinary, the separation of bass, middle and treble are like if you have three separates amplifiers! Without deformation of the sound. We have the impression that the Rotel gives simply the 'real sound'. |

Strength:
Sound Quality (very clean), "on-unit" controls
Weakness:
Remote, binding posts First of all, for reference, this was my first "serious" reciever purchase, so I don't have the background that many of you might. That said, I did research as many options as I could, and auditioned all mentioned units before coming to my conclusion of which was right for me. My listening habits are about 70% music, 30% HT. This reciever simply shines in both, and definately stood out to my ears when it came to music. It may be trivial to some, but I really appreciate the simplicity as well. The front panel contains all of the basic controls, so rarely do you have to go digging through menus to adjust something. Similar Products Used: Auditioned NAD, Nak, Onkyo, Yamaha, Denon, Marantz |
