Strength:

Great Radio reception with RDS-Text. Surround modes are EXCELLENT. Got a secound audio output, LOVE IT

Weakness:

IR Remote doesn't have a learning function

First thing i did was to setup the remote-control for my tv,dvd,md.. and *woof* i dumped 3 remotes ! No more looking for remotes, love it.

I haven't used the 930 much for surround, more music and concert/live music. And i must say, it sounds EXCELLENT when for example listening to Metallica's new cd and putting the receiver in Live Hall or similar. Or when listening to classical music, then i must admit classical music sounds good :o)

The only thing i don't like is the remote. Every time i have to turn on the receiver i have to wait for 3-4 seconds before the remote is ready *ugh*. And it doesn't even know my Nokia dig. sat receiver :/

Strength:

Cool surround modes

Weakness:

Amplifier design, looks ugly

I saw this amp had good reviews. So, stupid old me went out and bought it.
Then, one day i went to my friends house, and he had his denon up over halfway on the dial.
The sound poured out... And the bass sounded weak, and not emphasised as on the sony!
So i listened some more and i then fouind that the bass was a lot more definied...
when i went home i was really disappointed!
The bass on the sony is really bloated! It has no definition, it cant control the woofers!
and, i have exactly the same set up as my friend, minus the amp!
Oh well.. when i get a decent amp, ill try to sell this one - i should do alright as people say its good cos of the reviews.. haha... as the guy below said - a supermarket amp.
When an amp is cheaper - you have to wonder what the skimped on

Strength:

good looking, great amplifier design, no distortion, clean 5.1 channel sound, cool remote -especialy once you learn it works. "ORGASMIC" -bass/mid/treble, Better-grade components = better sound.

Weakness:

none

*Don't know what the guy below was experiencing..but mine couldn't be more opposite. Sony didn't skimp on anything. You get much more than you pay for.

Results may depend on the quality of your speakers. The bass, mid and treble are all very controllable and tweakable, and provide very crisp bass, mid, and treble. You can accually adjust each speakers' own frequencies. It provides great timber-matching. All you need is good speaker cable and to hook it up right. Anybody who listens to this sucker above halfway needs to get a hearing-aid.

I heard this sucker rip when I was at a local dealer (Ultimate Electronics)in a home theater demo room and decided it was for me. (It even sounds better at my house!!!) It makes my old yamaha speakers sound new, and my new Infinity speakers sound utterly "orgasmic". I'll never buy another movie ticket again!!-just rent DVD's !!!
For the record:
I got the new Infinity Quadrapole rears, Infinity CC3 center, and Infinity BU150 15" bottom firing theater sub.

p.s. Onecall.com has this for $399.00 right now.
