Strength:
Great Product. Great for Surround Sound and DVD. If you can find it for under 150.00, I strongly suggest you purchase this item. Great surround at 100w x 5!!!
Weakness:
Fan goes off and on; thus leaving it the possibility to overheat. Keep it cool with a fan or keep it out of a cabnet. Awesome product for the buy. Creates perfect sound. Similar Products Used: Aiwa....3M. |

Strength:
a ton of features for the price
Weakness:
no bass, over heats this reciever has great features but this thing has no bass output and a lot of disortion. If you have any speakers under 8 ohms this receiver is massively hot after only a half hour of use. Litterly you could fry an egg on it!!! |

Strength:
None - a gift wrapped piece of junk
Weakness:
THD, overheats, signal to noise ratio Don't buy Techics unless your speaker are 8 ohms and don't require more than 20 watts to drive them. Spend some more money and get a decent receiver - like a Yamaha 950SV - you will be glad you did in the long run! Similar Products Used: Yamaha |

Strength:
Nice bang-for-buck, good sound, plenty-o-power, 5.1 ready.
Weakness:
Runs pretty warm, weak remote. I've had this unit over a year now. Got it at best buy for $200 open box plus the Technics AC-3 decoder for $150 open box. Pretty inexpensive way into AC-3 at the time, and I've been real happy with its performance. I've put a lot of time on this unit, and it's still running same as always. It does get pretty hot in my component rack, so I mounted a fan and plugged it into the back of the receiver. So, if the receiver is on, the fan is on. I haven't used some of the higher end stuff, but I really can't complain about how this receiver performs. Great product for its price range. |

Strength:
Lots of power, excellent sound quality.
Weakness:
Universal remote could be better designed. Also, it controls other brands of TVs and VCRs, but only Panasonic DVD players. I was looking for a Home Receiver that was digital ready with lots of power and has good or great sound quality. All this and I was also looking for a low price. |

Strength:
100W x5, DVD ready, good price, nice sleek design, 5.1,
Weakness:
no Dolby Digital decoder, gets really hot I was able to buy this on sale for 249 CDN. A real steal of a deal. My only regret is that it doesn't have the DD decoder. My advice is to spend the extra dollars and buy a receiver with the decoder (SAAX930/940), for future digital tv/satelite. It is dificult to get the bass out of the speakers with this unit, but is managed if you have a decent sub. An awesome buy if you don't want the DD. |
