The SA-DX750 is a A/V receiver with built in Dolby Digital/DTS decoder, digital tuner, sound field control that includes simulated surround sound. This receiver has independent sub-woofer controls, and a 10 key direct access remote is included. Not bad for the price. It's not a Onkyo THX but it'll do. |

Strength:
Build quality, sound quality, price, provides a good base for any other audio equipment
Weakness:
I can't find any I was looking to get into the home audio 'scene' so I asked for a receiver for Christmas and come Christmas morn' the SADX750 was under the tree. Its a nice unit for newbies looking to get started on a home theater. Sure there's nicer stuff out there but not at this price. The 750 provides a really good base for home theater, its got decent power, adjustable sub levels, and lots of other nice convenient features. Similar Products Used: Nothing really |

Strength:
Great power and good featurs, i.e. tape monitor. I actually use it to crank out my home recordings that are digitally recorded on my PC. Lot's of inputs and especially like digital out. I run them through some old studio monitors that I've had for 20 years and the system can be real loud.
Weakness:
I've had to have it repaired twice since May 2001. Same issue, the unit will be playing fine and suddenly a loud hiss will replace the sound. The last time the hiss was so loud it blew the fuses on my speakers. Thank god the speakers had fuses because otherwise they'd be toast! In a nutshell, not really sure about the durability. I even got the extended warranty through Best Buy and unfortunately, I can't get a new unit until the fourth repair. I'm not convinced that the unit will be repaired properly as last time it was supposedly fixed and here I am again. If it wasn't for the reliability, I'd have rated this product much higher.
