Here I am again reviewing a product that I recently have bought. You have to realize that I bought the Yamaha HTR-5950 and not the HTR-5850, but I had to review it so I put it in this section. Anyway, I was using a Harman Kardon AVR 110 for my bedroom, my bedroom is only 11 feet by 11 feet.

Strength:
This is my second AVR, with my first, a Denon AVR-55 that is now in the den as a 2-channel unit. We are talking about 6 years between the mfg of the Denon and the Yamaha...with the Dolby 6.1 being much easier to hear dialog and background music without one burying the other. The design in clean and intuitive. The Power is punchy and clean. I love this receiver. Why pay more? I am starting to become a Yamaha brand-loyal customer. Second piece of gear that I own from them.
Weakness:
I haven't noticed any yet. Give it time! LOL Upgrade Buy: The difference between the 60W Denon and the 100w+ Yamaha is noticable, but it is the imaging that is most improved. 6.1 works for me! Similar Products Used: Denon, Pioneer, |
