Strength:

Nice, clean, clear sound. Lots of power. Good remote. Yamaha sound getting better, not to bright anymore.

Weakness:

Nothing for me now.

Wow!! I''m posting the first review for this product (LOL). First thing first I''m french, and doing my best. I don''t see any place to review the RX-V2200 so I will do it here. I''m upgrading from a HTR-5150. Just move to the Paradigm Reference line (2xStudio-100, 2xStudio-20, 2xStudio-cc) and the HTR was harsh at high levels. So I start a journey in the Audio world to find a new amp. I''ve listen to Onkyo, Denon and Yamaha. All in the 1000$ to 2000$ (Cdn). By the way, the RX-V3200 wasn''t out yet. Really didn''t like the Onkyo sound (personal taste). My friend is a seller so I''ve brought the Denon 2802, the Rx-V1200 and RX-v2200 home to do a real "home" test (don''t like to listen in a show room). The Denon was to warm for me. I like the clear and crisp sound of the Rx-V (both of them). I choose the RX-V2200 over the 1200 because of the 100 watts per channel, and the better remote. The sound was the same for my ears and those of my friends between the 2 RX-V. I know some people don''t like the Paradigm-Yammie match, but I really dig this combination for classical music and HT. For HardRock, I prefer the Denon sound. The sound is really less bright on the new Yammies, compare to my HTR-5150. I really prefer the new sound, less harsh and less brighter than my old amp. DPL-II is really a surprise for me. Not out of the box tough. You have to tweak it at your taste. Had to tweak the delay and poof completely different experience. I always listen to TV (satellite) in DPL-II now, and wow, really didn''t see it coming!. Neo 6 is good to for old DVD, to use the new back center. DTS ES and Dolby 6.1 is really impressive. Just listen to the scene in Gladiator when he fights pretorians on horses, and he throw is sword at a pretorian... My wife jumped 2 feets!! tought something was coming in her back!!! For DVD-A, the sound is incredible. My friends don''t like blues but Rinding with the King make them WOW me. Even my friend that paid 15000$ for is rig is jealous hehehe... The remote is good and the Macro are terrific. My wife is able to play a CD now (LOL)!!! With just 1 button, she can even play a DVD alone!!! (with the disco DSP, but it''s better than nothing, it''s a start...). Never listen to a review. Go out and listen to a lot of different amp. Trust your ears, not my humble opinion. Have fun.
