cl is a monkey. Ya, l must understand Ac3 is for LD, ya. l forgot ok. it should be dd LD ,DVD not dd dvd.
And 2095 is made in japan just that they have this weird policy of Ac3 demodualtor inbuilt for Australian, Singapore and othe rgeneral models whereas
the us and canadian models have no Ac3 demodualtor and only coaxial input for ld
The uk models are uncertain, those who got ac3 in us may have acquired them from uk or from japan , singapore directly. u see l was right the conspiracy theory.

So people in usa have the right to think this unit is inferior... the sound is bright or no ac3 whatever, the dsp does not work ...just because they have been fooled by whatever japan or as some claimed made in a third world country.
l was wrong to think they were trying to make fun of me. l sympathise their fate.

Really, the singapore model is neutral with B& W speakers, not bright at all.
Dsp is phenomenal and l do not know why the us models do not work well with dsp , may be the same reason with ac3. And really this receiver has negligible distortion level (l am refering to the singapore model) if u want to hear distortion at high volume, u will be lond deaf before u can pick up any...your neighbour would have called the police. Those us models with distortion probably had no damping circuit. mine has a damping factor of 200. This effectively kills all unwanted noise. With interconnects and earthing...this unit becomes superb, flawless. but again l can say much for the us and canadian models.

NEED HELP
I read all the reviews of the 2095 and most of the Sony ES50 and I was convinced that the 2095 was the one for me, but what I can't resolve is the 2095 worth twice the price? For those of you that have auditioned or owned these machines, help the blind to see the way!!!!!!

with the same damping factor has more fidelity but forget
about pro logic and DSP héhé .

Thanks Reviews below, I finally got one two week ago. I first consider Yamaha RX-V995, or Denon AVR3300. Go to a local dealer, Denon AVR3300's price tag lists $860, Yamaha RX-V995 $699, and Yamaha RX-V2095 $1100. Influenced by "HT crazy" below, and decide to buy the Yamaha Flagship product. I won't regret my decision.
I spent one day to read the manual and hook up the system. The Rock, AntZ, Matrix DVD really clearly shake my room and my heart. Remember right now I only have two little Polk RT25i speakers now and set effect off. The speaker wire really important, The first time I used small wire, I hear a little humming from Speakers some time when listening to Radio. Changing to big wire make it better. But I doult Radio signal has disturbs, because tuning to other station, the humming is gone.
I know 90% people here complain the remote control. It really take time to learn it. But it is very powerful. I'm still learning it every day. The first one week I only used the keys on the front. Right now I know how to use it to control FM/AM station and my Sony DVPS560D DVD Player. Interesting, you need to set the 40 preset station using keys on the front panel under the cover, the remote control can only be used to select the station you already set. However, once set, you can very quickly tuning to the stations. and you can follow the manual do auto-preset first.
The sound is really clear. The crystal clear sound of splashing waters and gun-shooting really make you crazy. Thank god, I now really know what you guys mean by sweet spot, sound position, etc audiopile terms.
The receiver has 20-bit D/A converter(?). But I don't think my ear can distinguish between 20-bit and 24-bit converter. I can stand it.
Any advice about Paradigm Reference Studio 60 Speakers and B&W 603 or 604 speakers?

I have just bought this unit and have already lost the remote. Does anyone know where I can get a new one other than paying $155 from Yamaha?

If I do have to buy a new one at face value, should I consider buying a better one?

Finally, my systems shorts out frequently when I play a DVD; no one else has had this comment before so it may be something wrong with my unit in particular. Any comments?

Strength:

super DSP soundfields, incredible power, DD and DTS, flexible jackpack

Weakness:

hinge on remote door cracked

This receiver shares the same power as the DSPA-3090.
I have Klipch KLF 30(fnt), Klf C7(cent),KSF S5(rear), KSB1.1(fnt sur) and BNW ASW1000 sub.
The 2095 puts out so much clean power, that I have measured
125dB at 1 meter from my fnt speakers(clean power). And all channels driven in DD/DTS mode 117dB!
Also the 20/96 processor is clean and brings out the subtle nuances with my CDs.

Auditioned this receiver in my home against the Denon 3300. No comparison. The Denon 3300 sounds much better in both music and movies. Yamaha amps do not have a good sound. The DSP modes are useless for music and are not very good for movies. Movies were not intended to be heard in that manner. I kept the Denon.

This unit is certainly good for music, especially female vocals. Nonetheless, the sound quality can be altered by changing different interconnects and speaker cables. interconnects with earthing is ideal. this unit allows earthing which greatly reduces the noise.
It is also biwirable with Taralabs speaker cables.
Movie wise, dolby digital, dts enhanced mode are phenomenal. Of course, to appreciate this, the speakers have to be reasonably upper class. It is unfortuate that there is no Thx but then is Thx a must for all home videos? This is a good unit in the RECEIVER category and this price range. Certainly, separates are better than receivers but that is another story.

After using the Yammy seperates for almost 20 years, it was time to move into the modern times of digital surround. I was leaning toward the 995 but after hearing the 2095 the decision was made. Well worth the extra money.
