Strength:
6.1 Channel DTS, Dolby Digital Capability 29 DSP
Weakness:
No S-video Port AV Controller difficult to use in the dark Equipped with 29 DSP at 125W per Channel, the receiver ROCKS!!! Not to mention the price at just $275. Easy to set-up, Easy to operate, fast response time when controlled, you'll never be left out to hang-dry! It's DTS and Dolby Digital capabilities say it all for a Home Theater set-up. Get this one... pair with with equally good speakers... you should be rooted on your couch once you start watching movies! Similar Products Used: Pioneer SVX |

Strength:
power rating universal remote DSP Modes Virtual and Silent cinema modes
Weakness:
The only complaint i have is that this and it's replacement the RX-V450 only has one optical and coaxial digital input. Actually this is a review for the Yamaha RX-V440 receiver. This is a great little receiver that I bought from a friend and it came with Sony speakers. It has a power rating of 75x5 and it has Dolby Digital EX and DTS ES Discreet as well as the Pro Logic II and DTS Neo:6. And we can not forget the world class and world leading DSP surround modes it has!! Also in addition it has silent cinema, a 5.1 surround presentation for your headphones (which btw the are convincing and you can use the DSP modes and Dolby Digital and DTS modes too!!) and Virtiual Cinema. Virtual Cinema is you can use the front two or fron three speakers and get a 5.1 channel sound from them!! (this is also convincing as well!!)
