Strength:
It has a huge array of input options from composite, S-Video, component, coaxial digital and optical digital. It also has a huge assortment of sound fields and wll retain settings for different sources. It will maintain 6 channel audio and switch back to DTS "Adventure" when it is sourced back to Sat. It has a built in XM tuner, which I love, and it only needs the antenna and not the mini-external tuner like a lot of them do. The two large revolving knobs on the front are neat and easy to use. The custom settings are easily accessable using the on screen display and are in depth. It also has the ability to control and source its components to another amp and speakers remotely located as Zone 2 and, of course, Yamaha iPodd docking.
Weakness:
No HDMI or DVI This is a decent entry level 6.1 A/V receiver I purchased for our den. It is mated to a 42" plasma TV, satellite receiver, and a 400 disc DVD changer. It runs a Polk Audio RM6750 Thetre package with an extra monitor for the rear. This is an extremely versatile unit with a great array of features that you might find on higher end amps. Rated at 95W RMS 0.06% THD all around it is amply powered. |
