GREAT Sound. Dolby Digital EX DTS ES Matrix Dolby Prologic II
Weakness:
None at the moment (purchase price is in Danish Kroner) I bought this receiver to get Dolby Digital EX and DTS ES (it only decodes matrixed, not discrete). I was immediately surprised by the great channel seperation and great envelopment of the DD and DTS decoder. 6-channel stereo and Dolby Prologic II is fantastic for music. I used to go for Denon receivers because of great build and sound but I have found a new preference. Yamaha RULES! Similar Products Used: Denon AVR-2800 |

Yamaha idiots made this amp in a color (titanium) that they do not use for other products (yet). I tried the 510 DVD player, and it just has a different color, even though they still call it titanium. badly designed remote I read a lot about Yamaha's 620, which had great reviews, not just on this site. Early 2002 Yamaha came out with the 630, but not throughout Europe. Just when I decided to go for the 620 for 499 euro's at Richersounds I stumbled on the first RX-V630RDS in some store in Germany, for the exact same amount. Almost 4 months later the 630 came out in the Netherlands for 599... I'm playing the 630 on KEF Cresta 2's, with a JBL sub. Still waiting for the right surround speakers, but they will most likely be Cresta's as well. The current setup sounds GREAT! Although it's my first 'real' AV setup, I've heard many and this one is super. The Yamaha produces very clear sound, with a lot of well defined low, even without the sub. Stereo is very good, the 6 channel stereo option is amazing. There's a lot of 'tweakability' and about 21 DSP programs which are very decent. I like to stick to the most natural though. Clarity sound, Musical, Powerful, Great sound differentiation.
Weakness:
