Strength:
The build quality and value for the dollar is very favorable to me. I am a Yamaha fan.The features of this reciever and the sound and video handling are first rate, in my opinion.
Weakness:
I have none that come to mind. I had a Yamaha RX-V520 prior to purchasing the RX-V2200, and my experience with Yamaha has been a pleasant one. The afore mentioned reciever was of very good qaulity and sound for the dollar. The RX-V2200 continues that standard with more power and features. I bought this unit off of EBAY used. EVERYTHING!!! ITS A YAMAHA !!!
Weakness:
none The YAMAHA RX-V2200 receiver is awsome! What a improvement over my old receiver(Denon avr-1500). I only had it a couple of weeks and I feel like I'v been operating it for a year. Easy programing and easy to understand manual. I just have to say if you buy this receiver you will NOT be sorry. Similar Products Used: Denon AVR-1500 Very dissapointed with this unit, I had to resolder some boards because of cold solder joints. I thought Denon had better quality than this. Had no problems after repair and owned the r |

Weakness:
None, so far... I purchased this receiver as an upgrade from a Sony STR-DE875 I used mostly for home theater. Indeed, what an upgrade it has been!! The Sony served as a solid "entry level" receiver, but it doesn't come close to the Yammie RX-V2200. First off, the RX-V2200 is one powerful receiver at 100 watts RMS x 6-channels. This is evident on the weight of the unit at 43lbs, which tells you the massive power supply inside this receiver. I'm talking CLEAN, detailed (not overly bright, just right...) sound for both stereo and movies. The unit has a "world" worth of connections in the back panel, very versatile. Very solid construction with all the "bells and whistles", easy to setup, highly recommended for those looking to move up from their entry-level system. Similar Products Used: Sony STR-DE875 |

Strength:
Clarity in the mid-range
Weakness:
Might be too bright sounding for some. I upgraded from the Sony DE-975, a very good AV receiver for the price. Now to the Yamaha. This unit has much better mid-range than my Sony. I acheive the same clarity and definition at 85 decibels that takes 95 Db with the Sony. It has an A/B speaker switch, so you can have two additional front speakers. So in 6 channel stereo mode(the reason I bought it) you can have a total of 8 speakers plus a sub. Now that's Stereo!!
