Strength:
Well and nicely build, good sounding as long as you don't compare them to other (even less) expensive gear.
Weakness:
Personally I find them (the power as well at the pre-amp) too much on the analytical side. It misses coherence. Too small in power (100 W / 8 Ohm), less dynamic than other amplifiers, too slow. Don't bridge the poweramp, the sound gets worser. Far too expensive in Europe. Plinius Odeon versus Accuphase PX-600 power amps. See also my review on the Plinius Odeon poweramp. The Accuphase is also a very nice and goodsounding amplifier, especially with its own pre-amp, the CX-260. While comparing them to the other combinations however, I find the Accuphases too much on the clinical side, too analitic, with not enough musicality. In general this may be a real good sounding combo if only you limit yourself to this combination. Once you start comparing them with other things, you may get into serious doubts. I also encountered some better matching with other speakers then my B&W’s. (It seems to sound better with Dynaudio) Conclusion : The Plinius Odeon sounded better than the Accuphase who’s sound is too analitical and misses some soundstage-coherence.
