I listened to the A150 in a head to head comparison with the Cinepro 600X2.
The A150 was quite harsh and would distort sooner than the Cinepro.
I know this because I am pretty sensitive to high frequency distortion- I start to recoil and grimace at a certain level.

Bass was pretty well defined but I am not sure that it may have just been because it was driving my NHT 2.5i's to be more pronounced in the upper bass rather than real low bass.

Anyway, I put on some Sting discs and was nearly driven out of the room!
Yikes!!!! - Waaay too harsh- unlistenable. This amp was doing some really crazy high frequency distortion that I have not heard any other amp do...I have listened to some Krells at length on someone elses system...so I am not just imagining things.

Conclusion- I have the Cinepro 600x2 (with improvements) - the Acurus found its way back to the dealer quite quickly.

This amp is bullet proof! I've owned it for over 5 years, actually caught fire with a loose ground problem I had external to the unit, sent it back to Mondial and they turned it around in under 1 week. Amp sounds perfect, superior customer service and I will definitly loof for product extensions. This is the real deal!!!!

I live in an apartment building and can't lean on it- time to buy a house in the country!

I would buy this amp at double the current market price- I love it. Does Acurus make a THX 5.1 preamp???

The A150 had the BESST bang, and accuracy, for the buck. This amp has bass to spare, and nice smooth midrange, and just a bit of edge to the highs. It can drive the HELL out of my super-efficent Klipsch KG-4 speakers. If I had the $$$, I would replace it ONLY with an ARAGON amp (Acurus' bigger brother). I tried the A250 in my system, and found it toooo boomy and harsh.

The Acurus A150 is my first separate power amp. Prior to that I had always opted for the convenience of receivers. What a difference! Incredible bass and musical clarity. Big time bang for the bucks. Very, very happy with my purchase! 5 big ones.

pretty much been covered here i guess,im using vandersteen model 1's.a match made in heaven,(in my budget).with my tannoys the brightness really shows,but is still very very listenable,just better with vans.using it with a ps audio 4.5,carver c2,gas thoebe,.best with c2,i have a week spot for it though so its not fair.anyway the build qaulity is lesser than the amps im used to,particularlly older sae;s,gas amps.ect.i dislike the amount,and size of top plate screws!the side walls are a little thin,other than that,a real performer with few flaws!!!

I JUST TOOK DELIVERY OF THIS AMP, PROBABLY THE ONLY NEW, IN THE BOX, A150 IN THE COUNTRY. I WAS CONSIDERING THE A200, BUT FOR THE MONEY, THIS AMP IS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL, NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL, BUT EVEN MY PAPERWORK SAYS IT NEEDS 250 HOURS BREAK IN TIME, AND THEY ARE NOT KIDDING. TRY IT, YOU'LL LOVE IT.
