Great home audio sound for the buck. I pick this up used for $700. Great addition for Hometheater. good quality build.

For pure stereo audiophile listenig This is not a Krell or linn but for the money it does it job. Like any amp ground loops and other stray pickups could be a potential problem.
It is not an Amps fault but a seperates issue. amp should not be dinged because you can not figure that out.

this score reflects offset for previouse bozo's. they might have had a bad exsperience with this amp but to bring the adverage to below 3 is nuts. listen to the bad review. does is it bring out critical listening comments or just flame. This amp does what it intended for. reproduce sonics as a multi channel amp should, primary focus for HT. for the price watt per dollar you can't go wrong. granted it is not HIGH end but blows away most all receiver amp sections.

Ive been reading reviews on this amplifier and cant help but to respond.Personally I listen to my sound at ridiculous sound pressure levels, for hours at a time-trust me my ears are fine.Bought this amplifier in conjunction with a onkyo txds747 receiver through five pre amp outputs and jbl lx 600 speakers and have since moved to mirage om6 speakers and only once have I blown a fuse in my left rear channel, and the only annoying thing is I couldnt get to it to repair myself. However the warranty covered repairs and alls fine since I now pay closer attention to distortion allert and thermal temp. l.e.d. on front panel. Overall sound is rather forward while still revealing many fine nuances in the back of the soundstage. Many sounds such as a performer breathing into the micophone or the fingers moving over strings in complex passages hold firm.Base attack seems fast and detailed no sign of compression at high sound pressure levels, sounds stay seperated. For me this was a fine value in my first foray into the upper reaches of audio, and it has for the most part given me emotional highs and lows when listening, much more than recievers.If Adcom is to be at fault then its only in the layout and this was in part my fault for not using l.e.d.s All in, all one fine product, and Id purchase it again tomorrow.

Power, low distortion, price

I bought this amplifier specifically for small home theater application separate from my main system. With the right preamp the sound was full, great fast bass an overall unfussy sound. I have primarily listened to it with video applications and jazz. I have tested it with two preamps and there is a substantial difference. Given the overall spectrum of reviews consideration must be made to the overall quality of all the components.

I have had the amp for about two years. I have enjoyed every minute of it. I amusing a Marantz AV550 Preamp and Klipsch KG5.5 speakers up front. I have not found the combination to be bright unless the recording is bright. I am able to get about 90% consistantly with no problems. the thermal protection circuits have tripped once when I tried to push it past about 95% volume. as far as everyday listening no problems. overall the system gives you what you give it. If you play a bright recording it can be harsh (mostly rock) but with well recorded material I have no complaints.

Who knows.

I wish I had time to cover allbut for what I paid who cares!!!

I picked this up for 200.00 [for sale by owner]newspaper ad.THIS IS about all it is worth,it is in a 2cd system at the time I have someone lined up to give me 400.00 for it.I must agree with some of the other posts Adcom is CERTANILY NOT WHAT IT ONCE WAS

Typicl Adcom I now know why I do not own any Adcom you get what you pay for and this stuff is just plain BAD.My dealer FINALLY fessed up and admitted he has been sitting on this for 7 months!!!He said he stold it on trade he isn't even a Adcom dealer and doe's not plan on it.I brought home a Parasound 2003 now THIS IS QUALITY!!!Forget adcom,JUNK!!!!!

I purchased this amp off of Ebay 4 months ago and have it set in a bi-amp config. 2 channels power my left speaker and 2 more power the right side. The fifth channel runs my center speaker. I use an Adcom GFA-5400 for my surrounds. The sound is amazing - crisp, clear and powerfull. For the price I don't think I could have done any better.

My system consists of:(audio piece of it anyways)

Rears - Polk FX300i bi/dipole
Preamp - Onkyo TX DS-676

This was the WORST amp I ever had.I was ALWAYS blowing fuses at LOW volumes [no less].I also had the same problem with there gta 600 pre-amp.I became an EXPERT at replacing fuses all different channels i parted with ALL adcom since should have bought parasound to begin with.The old saying holds true YOU ONLY GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR & adcom all adcom is JUNK.Made in China no less STEER CLEAR OF adcom WORTHLESS GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sound Quality, Power

Internal Layout, Weight ( I have 2 of these )

I must agree with most that the internal layout is of a poor design; yet with the proper tools and knowledge, the fuses can be quickly and easily replaced. As for the sound quality, I must disagree with those that say this is amp os of poor quality. The other source components do tend to make a difference in any system, and maybe I have very high quality systems, or those with the not so good reviews have not so quality systems. In my system, I am running all of my components with a digital connection (tos or coax, with the exception of the vcr), and have no complaints. Power is more than sufficent, running my Paradigm Eclipse speakers. Overall, I would have to say that this is a good reliable product.

Personaly I find this Amp a great bargain can be found used for about $700 for 5 channels of mono type construction thats a great deal. The Amp is quit with low level passages.
it is very dynamic when played with classical and acoustic material. for surround it will not heart your ears for hours on end listening. overall I am impressed with this amp
Not because I have just got it 3 months ago. and excited about it far from it at my age. but it does have great value and sound. to Bad one persons problems with it can underscore it's performance score because it blew fuses. maybee he was feeding it distortion or overdriving it. But thoes things Don't matter when you want to rag on a product. I give it a set of 5,s for his low score.it's a 5 value 4.5 overall.
