Strength:

Sound Stage, Base definition, High end sound

Weakness:

Midrange not as forward as 300B amps. Ugly design.

I bought these units used and had a problem with one amp. I contacted the designer (Josephn Lau). He suggested a bad tube. I finally opened up the unit. Very well built. Looks like the former owner replaced the 6C33 tube socket and got it all mucked up. I ordered a replacement and when it arrived, did the surgery. As I began to button it up, I noticed a broken connection right at a resistor (ALL point-to-point) wiring. I found a new resistor and replaced. Now, no more noise, soundstage opened up, bass got tighter and midrange came forward.

Units are ugly. The blue power caps stick out of the chassis. The units are not mirrored. Component quality is very good. Some better parts could have been used, but not many.

I have:

Silverline Sonatas,
Denon DCM-370
Ah Tjoeb 99
Creek OBH-12 passive
Magnum Dynalab FT101A
