To whom this may concern. I'm a small business owner, in 1999 I installed 3 AT1506's at three different jobs. Two homes and one resturant these amp's have never been turned off. They've just been kept dust free. I just wanted to tell you that this is a great amp.
Not only does it sound good, it was built to last. Good work.

I purchased this amp after looking at several different brands. The nicest feature of the 1506 is the ability to be able to bridge. It is a 6 channel amp, which means the possibilities are almost endless as far as what you can configure this amp to do. The minute I plugged it in my speakers and system sounded like a COMPLETELY new system!
This was the most prominent upgrade to my system. I was using a Yamaha RX-V995 receiver to power all of my equipment before. The seperate componets is the way to go!
I would buy ATI again in a second. Thank You ATI for making such awsome equipment. I also want to thank Ed Frias for all the time he has spent with me helping me make a decision and guiding me where I needed to be guided... and for the knowledge he has given me.

Wont get blown away in sana anna winds, great detail in music reproduction and surround applications.
bridgeable, and quality built.

Strain your back when wife wants it moved. 5 way binding post but is standard for safty issues. big ATI logo(I perfer all black. green led lights that flash or flicker with amplification.

to be breif man what a heat sink. 6 channel bridgable to 3 at 450watt each. hopefully it is efficient and does not need to use all of the heatsink provided. Sound bridge was close if not the same as some of the Krell I have listen too at a fraction of the cost. blows away the denon and adcoms I have had over the years. in the bridge mode it opens up sound stage and minute details (this is common with all quality High power good dampening amps) Yeah this one is a keeper.
Only problem I refuse to take it out of the bridge mode and I need another amp for the rears. This amp at the cost structure of today is a value and is not all Hype!The money alone that went in to production of this unit shows (88lbs)
of mostly kik ass transformers/heatsinks and chassis and it sound good too. I amit I am selling this product line for a short time this review on the other hand will stay longer than my venture selling this product. I will tell you that there is no intent to overstate this amp this is a 4.5 star sound and 5 star value. I have been through amps left and right and can't afford Krell as of todate but this amp will stay. being an engineer with a tech background I will say that I could not come close to trying to build this for less than what ATI has put into this. to me it is a bargain.

I've had my two ATI 1506 amps for about a year now and they perform great in my system. I'm running them in bridged mode, and I'm feeding it with a Lexicon MC-1, powering NHT SuperTwo speakers, with an NHT VT1-C center. The center will be switched to an Aerial CC-5 later this month. The amps run pretty warm, and have to be turned on manually on the front panel, that's my only gripes with this amp. Other than that, I have no complaints. Great value for what you get. I paid about $2600 for both amps delivered. I'll give it 5 stars for value, this much power at the price is hard to beat. Overall rating is a 4.

Perfect Bass, Clean, Excellent Imaging

Soundstage is pushed back. Makes a very slight hollow sound. Can be harsh on some speakers.

This overall is an excellent amplifier. It's strengths outweigh it's faults. I tried it both bridged and standard. I personally prefer standard, because the bridged mode seemed out of phase. Bass reproduction was the best I have heard at any price without a separate sub. Excellent for rock, rap, or country, but jazz and classical sound a bit distant or hollow. the soundstage is pushed back a little by a dull upper midrange. i listened to it on two different sets of speakers and it sounded very good on my Vonschweikert VR-2000 (Their current replacement is $3500) but was slightly harsh on my Energy C-6's about ($1200). I would use soft domes or expensive metal domed tweeters. Very good, but it just dosn't have that intimate cozey sound that other amps have. i.e. Linn, Mcintosh, Tube amps.

I liked it and if I wasn't a perfectionist I would have kept it for my system. For home theater I think it is probably unbeatable short of the big boys, and you know who they are.

I have owned and operated the ati 6 channel amp for both music and home theater, for approx. 1 year. I have compared this amp with others, some costing two to three times as much. I've never been let down by the ATI.
In the bridged mode this amp becomes a rhino killer! Depth and tightness of bass is truly amazing. Running this amp thru my EFE Towers is the closest thing to being there, sometimes even better!Great price, great quality in the build, cool running. If you are in the market for a killer amp,don't throw your money away on some overpriced, underpowered, fancy name, check out the ATI, be satisfied.

A word for the wise! Although the ATI amps have received numerous applauds from many of the magazine reviews, there is still a hidden secret lurking beneath this 92 pound beast of an amp. For nearly four years ATI amps have been working their way into the hearts of many Home Theater systems. Their most popular model has been the 5 channel AT1505. It has been the model most reviewed and consequently the biggest seller for ATI! Now a new member of the family has arrived, the AT2505. 250 watts per 5 channels-110 pound monster. It will no doubt make its mark in the record books also. But not so well known, arethree amplifiers that ATI has been building since their inception. The 2 channel AT1502, the 4 channel AT1504 and the 6 channel AT1506. These all produce a conservative rating of 150 watts per channel into 8 ohms as does the AT1505. The desire for these amps haven’t been as popular as the 1505 due to the fact that Home Theater usually requires 5 channels. Subwoofers are normally self-powered. With all the attention focused on just 5 channels, the 2 and 4 channel seem to come short and the 6 channel is just more than needed. Now with the rising of the new 6.1 surround, the 1506 may find a hungry market for it at last. But this isn’t the hidden secret! As a speaker manufacturer I have tried many amplifiers over the years. I do not build speakers for Home Theater, but rather for the audiophile who loves pure music! Thankfully, my speakers have turned out to be awesome for surround also. In search for good amps to demo my speakers with, I have tried many that sound good. I believe in large because accurate speakers tend to always sound good. But every so often
something will come along that is above the rest, that does something that others don’t. This is the case for the ATI 2, 4 and 6 channel amps. Unlike the 1505 and 2505, these amps all bridge! Each pair of channels is transformed into 450 watts per channel 8 ohms, and 800 to 1000 watts per channel into 4 ohms. This separates the men from the boys and Home Theater from pure audiophile! If you haven’t heard your system with that kind of power behind it, you haven’t heard your system! In one simple word it is, “Awesome”! Music becomes more real, more detailed, more live, more defined and incredibly more dynamic with deeper bass. There is simply no other amp on the market in this price range that even comes close. I performed an A/B blind test against several expensive American stereo amps, and the panel of seasoned audiophile judges unanimously (100%) chose the ATI without hesitation! If I were to name those amps, I’m sure it would boil the blood of the owners who spent $4-6g on their elite toys. It’s not my intention to downgrade these other fine amps, but just to let the audio world know that a giant is about to emerge from its sleep and you all can have its power for the absolute bargain price of a Home Theater amp!
If you are trying to figure out how to have the best of Home Theater and Audiophile sound all in one package, look no further. Just make sure all the nails in your wall are secure!

The 1506 is my second ATI amplifier. I previously owned the 1505. Sonically, they are identical, as they should be. After all, per the manufacturer, they are the same amp! The 1506 has something the 1505 does not, that being the extra channel. Some might feel the extra channel is wasted, however, six channels offers better flexibility. In my home theater, I bi-amp the front speakers (Energy C-8 & AC-300), letting my integrated preamp handle the surrounds. Other variations are also available. With the advent of 6.1 channels, we will soon see an increase in the number of manufacturers offering six channel amps.
