Strength:
warm mids, extended bass, fairly refined overall, dynamic, outstanding value for the money. the perfect start into a hi end system
Weakness:
a bit shrill at the top, can run out of power with inefficient speakers in a large room I bought my amp about 6 years ago. At the time i had been out of audio for quite soom time. I was looking to assemble a mid priced audio system to replace my old "Sony" receiver! Oh dear...what a light show. It was a huge improvement right from the start. The dynamics were outstanding, the detail more resolved & the highs more extended. Over the years i have continued to upgrade. My current system consists of a YBA 3a CD player, a Sonic Frontiers Line 1 preamp & Sonus Faber Grand Piano speakers. The funny thing is I have yet to replace the old TFM-25. It still sounds great even after upgrading. Its weaknesses are more apparent now but the big question has always been....replace it with what? Oh and by the way if you currently own a Carver preamp sell it & buy something better...poor quality to say the least. Similar Products Used: Adcom, parasound |
