Strength:
snappy clean sound, great separation and imaging, non-fatiguing highs, very musical amps
Weakness:
Hard to fault, but if I had to grasp for something, maybe could use a slightly more extended bottom end. I've owned a pair of these cool monoblocks for a month now, and have done a lot of listening through my Canton Ergo 80DC towers. A really nice pair of amps - extremely natural sounding with non-fatiguing highs, and a snappy musical sound...these are just plain fun listening. Combine the sound with the small size, negligible heat output, and dead-quiet background and you've got a real winner of a product. Great going Channel Islands! Strength:
Great performance, resonably priced
Weakness:
None Bought a pair of these a week ago after the Linn 5105 Amp self destructed(not the original owner no warranty). After several days the amps just dissaperaed. There is a deep and wide sound stage with lot of detail and lowlevel resolution. These amps equal and in some ways better the Linn they replaced. I have been going through the CDs and find that there are details I haven't heard before. On Allison Krauss 2 cd live, you are there! Also on the Eric Clapton "one more ticket, one more rider" Live CD you hear the ambience of the venu. You hear his voice bounce off a back wall. They are coherent with nice extended highs great mid and gorilla like grip on the lowend. They are surrounded by all tube sources Jolida 100 CDP McIntosh MR65B Tuner and Bottlehead Foreplay II stock preamp. These are a bargin and Dusty and others at Channel Islands are about making sure it right for you before and after the purchase. Highly recommended. Similar Products Used: Linn amps |
